Monday morning we left at 4:30am to catch a boat to Puerto Galera!

Despite the unnatural hour, the roads were (of course) still full of traffic, so we arrived at the docks in time for the 7:30am boat, after a stop for some coffee.

Once on the boat, it was still another hour and a half before we arrived! I passed the time by becoming the delegated hair stylist for the trip.

Once we arrived in Puerto Galera, we got a shuttle bus to where we were staying. It was fairly nerve wracking when the driver was speeding round corners up the hill and you can see just off the cliff…!

When we arrived, those who weren’t already wearing their swim gear changed into it and then went to order lunch. Once we had ordered we ran into the sea, not wanting to waste any time!

We then ate and then quickly got down to relaxing as much as possible. The place we were staying had hammocks and we brought some of our own so we could all relax under the shade of the palm trees – or in the sun if you’re crazy like Rebecca…

For dinner we went to a local restaurant that was so close we could still pick up the wifi from where we were staying! Unfortunately it was raining by this time, and while we were eating we were able to see the fishing boats go out.
