One Week Marker!
As today was Sunday I got up bright and early to go to church and was my day off so was not involved in the centre today.
I went to a church where they sang English songs that I recognise from when I was little so that was a nice comfort and a lot of the sermon was either mixed Tagalog or English but the parts that were in Tagalog were translated.
After the sermon I spoke to one of the pastor’s wives about England as she was thinking of visiting.
In the evening we had a lovely dinner from a classic filipino restaurant with some of the local doctors and midwives and interns and was so nice to relax somewhere away from the birthing centre, without someone being called away!
Also I learned about one of the dogs at my friend’s house who has hysterical pregnancies and even stimulates her nipples until she lactates! Was just a bizarre story that made me laugh.
I was also listening to the midwives and doctors just talking about birth stories which was so much fun. I love just sitting and listening to the midwives talk because it just makes me want to know everything there is about pregnancy and midwifery!!!
Woohoo! One week and so many experiences. I’m glad you are still enjoyi.g it and getting over the jet lag.
